No Rust sessions scheduled yet — post the first one

Pick a time, an activity and how many players you need. A posted session is how the next Rust player looking for a group finds you.

Post a Rust session

Or join a Rust clan active in the last 30 days

Many groups keep their sessions members-only, so joining one is often the quickest way into a game.

Rust on The100 right now: 1 group active in the last 30 days.

Rust has no matchmaking and no way to schedule anything in-game. Teams are formed by standing next to someone and pressing E, which is why most Rust groups are put together before the server wipes rather than on it.

No Rust sessions are scheduled here right now. The next wipe is the natural start time to post: name the server, the group size and the hour, and the next player looking for a team will find it first.

Crossplay Partly
PC Rust (Windows and Mac on Steam) and Rust Console Edition are separate games and never share servers. On console, each server is set to Crossplay, PlayStation only or Xbox only, so PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players can play together on crossplay servers.

Cross-progression No
Rust Console Edition progress does not transfer between Xbox and PlayStation, and PC Rust is a separate purchase on Steam.

Squad size Teams of 8 by default
The in-game team holds up to eight players by default. That is a team-UI cap, not a group limit: vanilla servers do not stop larger clans cooperating. Softcore servers cap teams at four, and many community servers enforce solo, duo, trio or quad limits.

Why Rust LFG runs on the wipe calendar

On PC, the forced wipe lands on the first Thursday of every month with Facepunch's monthly update and resets the map on every server. The default wipe timer puts it at 7pm London time, which is mid-afternoon on the US East Coast. Biweekly servers also wipe on the third Thursday, and weekly servers every Thursday.

Rust Console Edition runs its own calendar. Official weekly servers wipe every Thursday at 6pm UTC, and monthly servers wipe on the last Thursday of the month — not the first, as on PC. A post that says "monthly wipe" without saying PC or console can point at two different days.

Wipe hour matters because joining a server three days in means spawning beside clans that already have stone walls, turrets and a stocked cupboard. A group that starts together at wipe gets the same opening hours as everyone else, which is the closest thing Rust has to a fair fight.

Duo, trio or quad — match the server's limit

Decide the group size by the server, not the other way round. On vanilla servers nothing stops a group of ten from cooperating, so a duo there is playing against bigger clans. Community servers with solo, duo, trio or quad limits put every group on the same footing, and their admins act on reports of teaming over the cap. Softcore servers cap teams at four and let you keep half your inventory when you die, which makes them the gentlest place to learn as a group.

A duo is the easiest to fill and the hardest to keep online. A trio can cover farming, building and PvP at once. A quad is the size at which someone can usually stay on overnight, which is what keeps a base through its first offline raid.

Console Rust — PlayStation, Xbox and crossplay servers

Rust Console Edition is a separate game from PC Rust, made by Double Eleven for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PS4 and Xbox One versions were retired in 2025. Every console server is set to Crossplay, PlayStation only or Xbox only; crossplay servers appear for everyone, and platform-only servers are invisible to the other side.

So a mixed PlayStation and Xbox group needs a crossplay server, and the post has to say which platform each player is on. Progress does not transfer between Xbox and PlayStation, so nobody can switch platforms to join a friend without starting over.

Writing a Rust LFG post that gets answered

The posts that fill say five things: PC or console, the server (or at least region, wipe schedule and group limit), the wipe start time with a timezone, how many hours a day you will actually play through the wipe, and the role you want. "Trio, EU monthly vanilla, from forced wipe Thursday 7pm UK, three hours a night, I build and farm, need two PvP players, mic on" finds people. "Anyone want to play Rust?" does not, because nobody can tell which server it means.

Be honest about hours. Rust punishes the group whose members all log off at the same time, and the player who says "weekends only" up front is far more useful than the one who vanishes on day two. If you are new, say so — plenty of experienced players will take a learner who farms reliably over a veteran who plays twice a wipe.

Rust LFG — Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find people to play Rust with?

Start with the Discord of the server you want to play, where everyone already shares your wipe schedule. The official Rust and Rust Console Edition Discords are bigger but faster-moving. If you want a group that starts at wipe and is still there next wipe, post a session with a start time and open slots, or join a Rust group here.

When is Rust wipe day?

On PC, forced wipe is the first Thursday of every month, when Facepunch ships its monthly update; the default server wipe time is 7pm London time. Weekly and biweekly servers wipe more often, by default also on Thursdays. On Rust Console Edition, official weekly servers wipe every Thursday at 6pm UTC and monthly servers on the last Thursday of the month.

Can PC and console Rust players play together?

No. PC Rust and Rust Console Edition are separate games on separate servers, with no crossplay between them. PC players on Windows and Mac share the Steam version, and console players play on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

Is Rust Console Edition crossplay between PS5 and Xbox?

Yes, on servers set to crossplay. Each console server is configured as Crossplay, PlayStation only or Xbox only, and platform-only servers do not show up for the other platform. Progress does not carry over between Xbox and PlayStation.

How do I find a Rust duo partner?

Look for a duo server first, so the pair is not outnumbered by bigger clans, then find someone whose hours overlap yours — a duo where both players log off at the same time loses its base to offline raids. Post the server, the wipe start time and your timezone, and plan to keep the same partner for the next wipe if the first one works.
