Warframe Clans

Warframe on The100 right now: 7 groups active in the last 30 days.

A Warframe clan is a game system, not just a chat room. It comes with a Dojo, a research tree that unlocks blueprints you would otherwise buy with Platinum, a shared Clan Vault, Railjack research and its own chat channel. Its tier decides what that research costs, and its size and habits decide whether anyone is online when you are — so the useful work happens before you apply.

How Warframe clan tiers work

Every clan sits in one of five tiers, and the tier sets a hard membership cap: Ghost holds 10, Shadow 30, Storm 100, Mountain 300 and Moon 1,000. A clan climbs by building the matching Barracks room in its Dojo, one tier at a time.

The tier also multiplies the price of everything the clan researches or builds: Ghost pays the base cost, Shadow three times it, Storm ten, Mountain thirty and Moon a hundred. That keeps a small clan's research reachable, but it cuts both ways. A Moon clan with a dozen active players is paying a hundredfold bill with a dozen people, which is why a busy Storm clan is often in better shape than a quiet Moon one. Clans can step down a tier to make research affordable again, but then wait 60 days before climbing back.

How to pick a Warframe clan

Activity beats size. Ask the recruiter what time zone most members play in, on which nights, and whether people actually squad up or mostly use the Dojo to trade.

Ask whether research is finished. Clan ads can carry a "Max Research Complete" flag; in a clan that has it, every lab blueprint is available to you for 15,000 credits as soon as you build your Clan Key. A clan still researching will want resources from you — fine if you enjoy building a Dojo up, but know which you are signing up for.

If you care about Railjack, ask about the Dry Dock. You can fly a Railjack from a Relay's Dry Dock without a clan, but you get no Railjack research there, and Sigma Series components and armaments come only from Dojo research.

Read the other ad flags too: Beginner Friendly, High MR Requirement, Regular Login Requirement, Decorated Dojo, Competitive Event Focus, Endurance Run Squads, Fashion Frame, Has Discord. A "Regular Login Requirement" clan will prune inactive members; a "Beginner Friendly" one expects questions. Pick the one that matches how you actually play.

Cross-platform clans and the setting older clans missed

Clans can include players from PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and mobile, but only if the Founding Warlord has switched on "Enable Cross Platform Clan" in Clan Management. When cross-platform clans arrived in October 2023 that setting was off for every existing clan; clans created from December 2023 onward have it on by default.

So an older clan on a different platform from yours may be unable to accept you until a leader flips that switch — if an application seems to vanish, ask. Each player also needs Cross Platform Play on (the default), and two clanmates whose settings differ will not see each other in the Dojo.

What being in a clan does for you in-game

The Dojo is the obvious part: research labs, a place to trade with anyone you invite in, and a Dry Dock. The quieter part is that the game also rewards clanmates for playing together. Each clanmate in your squad adds a bonus to the Clan Vault at the end of a mission — 10% with two of you, 15% with three, 20% with a full squad — and that feeds a weekly personal reward track that resets Monday at 00:00 UTC. Clan Only matchmaking pulls in clan and alliance members already in public matchmaking, and an alliance of clans shares a vault and a chat channel under a combined cap of 4,000 Tenno.

What a clan does not give you is a start time. Clan chat is good at "anyone up for Eidolons?" when people happen to be online, and bad at getting four people to the same Archon Hunt on Thursday. That is the gap the100 fills: a group here posts sessions with a start time and open slots, and the100's Discord bot posts them to the clan's Discord server so nobody has to check two places.

Where Warframe clan recruitment happens

In-game, the Clan menu's "Search for a clan" list shows clans with a live ad, and the Recruiting chat channel — on by default — carries mostly squad calls with clan posts mixed in; its text filter can show only lines containing "clan". Outside the game, Digital Extremes points players to the official Discord server for finding a squad. All of these catch a clan that is recruiting right now. A the100 group covers the other half: it persists across nights and posts its sessions with a start time, so you can see when a clan actually plays before you apply.

Warframe Clans — Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join a clan in Warframe?

Apply to one or accept an invite. Open Communication, then Clan, then "Search for a clan", pick a clan with a live ad and send an application; it lands in that clan's Pending Members tab for an officer to accept. A member with the Recruiter role can also invite you directly. Once you are in, build the Clan Key blueprint you receive to reach the Dojo from your Star Chart.

How many players can be in a Warframe clan?

It depends on the clan's tier. Ghost clans hold 10, Shadow 30, Storm 100, Mountain 300 and Moon 1,000. Each tier up multiplies research and construction costs, up to a hundred times the base cost for Moon.

How does Warframe clan search work?

"Search for a clan" in the Clan menu lists clans that currently have a recruitment ad running. Ads last 12 hours, so the list changes through the day, and flags such as Beginner Friendly, High MR Requirement or Max Research Complete help narrow it down. A clan that is not advertising right now will not show up there at all.

Can Warframe clans be cross-platform?

Yes, if the clan's Founding Warlord has enabled Cross Platform Clan in Clan Management. Clans created since December 2023 have it on by default; older clans started with it off and some never changed it. You also need Cross Platform Play on in your own settings, which is the default.

Is it worth joining a clan in Warframe?

For most players, yes. Clan research unlocks blueprints otherwise sold only for Platinum, Sigma Series Railjack parts come only from Dojo research, and playing with clanmates adds bonus resources to the Clan Vault. If you would rather stay alone, you can found your own clan once Vor's Prize is complete; a one-person Ghost clan pays research at the base cost.

How do I recruit members for my Warframe clan?

Post a Clan Ad from the Clan menu or through Maroo in her Bazaar. Each ad runs for 12 hours and is paid in a Clan Vault resource that changes weekly, with the cost scaling by tier. Flag the clan honestly, and post in Recruiting chat or the official Discord for reach. A the100 group lets you post scheduled sessions with open slots, so applicants can see when the clan actually plays.
